I was so pleased with the video – I totally forgot to say anything else about it and above all who made it!

Of course our very good friend Gilles Bouquillon (see his blog here) was here for the afternoon when Ina Johann and Victoria Edwards, our artists in residence from New Zealand, presented their “work in progress” at the end of their residency here. We had a wonderful afternoon, starting with aperitifs and onion tart in the attic while Ina and Victoria explained their approach and their work here. We then came down for the next course – confit de canard made by Ina and Victoria (a little direction from myself – but they did the work). Then a surprise performance – recorded by Gilles as you can see. Desert and coffee were served over a powerpoint presentation of the various stages of the work made here – and some more historical work to give us a context. Then to the bamboo!

The afternoon stretched into evening…..

Ina and Victoria are to return in May 2010….. a little New Zealand continuity
